Stage 1 :
Wednesday July 6, 2016 at 6 p.m.

The Tour first stage is a 7 km Team Time Trial. This race will determine the order of the following cars for the first stage.



Stage 2:
Thursday July 7, 2016 at 9 a.m.

The second stage of the Tour is a demanding road race 78 km with an elevation gain of 1183m . The start of the race will be close to the church of Saint-Anaclet and the finish will be on the official site of the event at the École Paul- Hubert at 250 Arthur Buies Boulevard West . This step will use roads of Saint-Anaclet, Sainte-Luce, Saint-Donat, Saint-Gabriel-de-Rimouski, Saint-Marcellin Saint-Narcisse-de-Rimouski and Rimouski.



Stage 3:
Friday July 8, 2016 at 9 a.m.

The third stage is a 15 km individual time trial with a return back to the start on the Sainte-Luce 2nd road. 51 m elevation gain.



Stage 4:
Saturday July 9, 2016 at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The fourth stage of the Tour is a criterium. The 35 km women's race will take place at 2:00 p.m. As for the men's, it will be held at 3:00 p.m. Riders will complete 35 laps of this 1 km course.




Stage 5:
Sunday July 10, 2016 at 9 a.m.

The last stage of the event will be the most difficult and will crown 2016 winners. Riders will complete four laps of 18,9 km including the famous Cathedral hill with an inclination from 12% for a total elevation gain of 1076 m.

From July 8 to 12, the best cyclists aged 15 to 18 years from Quebec, Canada, the United States and Colombia will hit the roads of the Rimouski region for the sixth edition of Tour de la relève internationale de Rimouski.


A High-Quality Competition


Spectators will have the opportunity to enjoy close views of very high-quality races during select stages. This year, Tour de la relève internationale de Rimouski presents five stages over five days, in a small-scale Tour de France format. Athletes in the men and women Cadet categories (15-16 years old) and women Junior category (17-18 years old) will take part in the event. The cyclists will have to excel in a team time trial, a point-to-point road race, an individual time trial, a criterium, and an urban circuit road race including five strenuous climbs of Avenue de la Cathédrale, which is the queen stage of the event. The demanding routes will give the athletes the opportunity to truly experience an international-level cycling race and the people of the Rimouski area the privilege to witness impressive sporting achievements.


Some Interesting Novelties


Tour de la relève internationale de Rimouski is a constantly-evolving event and again this year, several novelties enhance the event on different aspects.


First, the teams of cyclists and their staff members have the possibility to choose their type of accommodation in the region for the duration of the event this year. "In the previous years, the Tour organization offered an all-inclusive experience to the teams and several of them have expressed their desire to choose their type of accommodation. This decision will have an undeniable impact on the economic benefits for the whole Rimouski region, because these teams and their staff members will go to various hotels and restaurants during their stay with us", says the Tour general manager, Michel Fugère.
